Wow, that's quite a list! Are you sure it's all free?

All of the sites listed here are free or offer free memberships/subscriptions. The information, books, lectures etc are usually free for you to download and use, but in some cases, copyright restrictions may apply so please make to sure find out before redistributing. Some sites offer a list of material for sale AND a list of free resources. In such cases, I have tried to make sure to link to the directory of free goods. Let me emphasise that you should read all of the information provided by the developer in regards to usage and distribution rights.

 

 

How do you find all this great free stuff?

For nearly 8 years I've reviewed software and websites for Tucows. From time to time, an author or web developer asks me to review a free product that really rocks and I want to let everyone know! I'm always on the look out for great learning resources! I spend a lot of time researching and categorizing information online so Librarian Chick started naturally as a way for me to keep track of my personal favorite resources. Turns out, it's also a great way to share these free educational tools with all of you as well! So if you appreciate this list of resources, please share it with your friends, family and social networks!

 

 

How do I get my free software, resource or online service listed on Librarian Chick?

If you are a developer and you would like me to add your site or resource, please contact me with "Librarian Chick Submission" in the subject line. Make sure you include the name of your site or product, a link to your homepage, and a brief description of its features.

 

I'm also currently accepting submissions for the Tucows Web 2.0 site and Librarian Chick's sister site, FOSSwiki, which is an open-edit wiki that lists free and open source software.

 

 

Can I help make changes and updates by administrating Library Chick?

Not at this time, sorry. I want to make sure that this collection retains its integrity and remains spam-free. Unfortunately, that means I must chose administrators carefully or do it myself. If you have any suggestions or know of some great free resources that aren't on this list, feel free to drop me a line. I'd love to hear from you!

 

 

How can I report a broken link or incorrect information?

I'll try to keep this list updated on a regular basis, but from time to time, a business goes under or a site changes domain names. Sometimes they will decide to charge for resources that were once offered for free. If you detect an error in the information presented here or discover a broken link, please send me an email.

 

 

How can I get involved?

You wanna help because YOU are a super star!

  1. The most important way you can show your support is by spreading the word.  Let people know that there are literally hundreds of absolutely free educational resources available online and that Librarian Chick maintains a relevant, comprehensive and handpicked compilation.
  2. Print up some copies of either of these black and white PDF Fliers and post them around your campus, library, or workplace.
